Myf Warhurst and James Mathison will host Australia Celebrates 2012, a live concert from the steps of Parliament House Canberra at 8:30pm on Australia Day Eve, Wednesday January 25.

Set to perform are INXS, The Potbelleez, Sneaky Sound System, Spiderbait, Katie Noonan and The Captains.

For the first time ABC1 will be covering the The Australian of the Year Awards live, hosted by Stephanie Brantz.

On the morning of Australia Day itself, ABC1 will broadcast the National Australia Day Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony live from the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra.

  1. Interesting…. James Mathison as co-host. He now adds ABC as another network he has worked at. Missed out on The Voice at Nine so maybe he’s looking again?
