Law and Order: SVU will return to TEN next week at 9pm -now without Chris Meloni.

TEN begins Season 13 at 9pm Thursday Jan 26, after rescheduling the premiere of A Gifted Man to 8pm.

In fact TEN will air two new episodes of SVU, “Scorched Earth” and “Personal Fouls.”

The first episode sees Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish, pictured) join the Manhattan SVU from Atlanta.

Who would have thought a new episode of SVU would air at 10pm outside of ratings? Seems like a waste to me. A rerun would probably do just as well.

Next Friday Jan 27 there is also a TBA in the schedule. My money is on a Homeland replay.

  1. I’ve watched the first ten episodes of the new season. It’s still a strong show, even without Christopher Meloni and the new detectives are slotting in well. It also helps that Diane Neal (Casey Novak) and Stephanie March (Alex Cabot) are back, seemingly on an alternating basis. ME Warner is back to recurring “special guest star” status.

    I hope this show continues for a long time to come.

  2. Didn’t you hear Justin? They’ve decided to kill Glee by airing it at 7pm on Fridays.

    At this rate Ten will easily be cemented in 4th place every week this year

  4. Lol @ everyone saying Tens is silly I’m a viewer I don’t give a rats if it’s the so called ratings season or not, I just want to see new episodes and not repeats. So Yay for Ten! L&O and Good Wife I’m a happy camper 😀

  5. Thanks melmac – yes I do remember that episode. I’ll give Channel 10 another go – but I’m sure they’ll disappoint me by playing 2 new eps then throwing in 3 repeats, then a new ep then 2 repeats, then changing the time, then the night etc etc – you know the routine.

  8. TEN are complete morons. It’s the let’s waste new episodes in a non ratings period show. Ten complain they don’t have content mid year. No complaining this year you brought it on yourselves. I for one don’t care if TEN succeed this year now.

  9. @Melmac – thanks for the synopses of the series final – I remember seeing that ep. I thought I read somewhere early last year that Meloni wanted his character to go out with a bang but it all seems a bit of a whimper (unless the explanation is controversial). Going to miss Stabler – not sure if bringing another female in is a good idea,
    @Tomothy – totally agree with on the hour programing, especially if ratings winner Ch7 starts its shows on the 1/2 hour.

    Chris Meloni’s last episode had him shoot dead the daughter of a murder victim in the police station after she shot and killed the murderer and a dodgy FBI Agent in the police station
    The early episodes of this new season will explan his leaving. So far I’m liking the 2 newbies but we need more Munch.

  11. Yeah Ten really loves to waste new eps of shows!! I mean what if towards the end of the yr they need 1 more week of good ratings and they need a new ep of svu but not they will be 1 down!

    It opend with a mother and daughter walking on the street after buying a prom dress when a man walks up and without a word pops mum in the head.
    I won’t tell you how it ends but it was fairly memborable

  13. I’ve given up on several programs I used to enjoy watching on 10.
    Law & Order SVU, NCIS, and Modern Family spring to mind immediately.
    So many repeats, and new episodes shown seemingly at random, that I just lost interest.
    I now watch them on Pay or get the boxed sets.

  14. What’s with TEN showing all programs on the hour rather than the 1/2 hour? This is not a good idea, it will fail quickly as people will be watching their usual 7.30/8.30/9.30/10.30 shows.

  16. Wouldn’t House be on at 8pm on Friday? Or are they removing that as soon as they bring it back? Or did I miss where they are no longer bring that back tomorrow? But its Ten, so I really shouldn’t be surprised.

    Love seeing that it will be a double episode of SVU when it returns :D. & yes they do give an explanation for where Elliot has gone due to Chris leaving in the first episode. There were no real signs in the last episode that he was going, just news stories saying he is leaving.

  17. Hi Bonrad, Chris Meloni didn’t actually hava a real final episode, last seasons finale was his last ever episode. However his leaving well be explained in the first episode.

    But I do find it odd that ten is bringing SVU back so early when does ratings start up again is it next month?

  18. Did I miss the episode where Chris Meloni left? Channel ten have me so confused with their repeats that I stopped watching – looks like I missed an important episode. How did they write him out?
