It’s been a rumour before, but now there is talk once again of an Aussie version of the Real Housewives franchise.
News Limited reports producers are eyeing the wealthy areas of Sydney’s eastern suburbs for possible candidates, with  suburbs like Vaucluse, Point Piper, Dover Heights and Bondi on their radar.
While Foxtel has its own WAG Nation series coming (and what a long time it’s taking), the Real Housewives brand is confirmed for a French adaptation.
According to E!, NBC Universal International has also been rumoured to be wanting versions in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, the U.K -and Australia.
News Limited notes there may also be some interest in the Gold Coast and Perth.

welcome back to tv Bec Cartwright (Hewitt)
Isn’t the Gold Coast where the family from Sylvania Waters moved to?
Sounds perfect for Channel 9.
Why?
Oh sweet Jeebus, now I’m really hoping the Mayans got their calendar right….
The Gold Coast is full of nouveau riche (or cashed-up bogans) that would be perfect for this series.
The Gold Coast? LOL.
I’d bank on the eastern suburbs..
Yeah, because people in the Eastern suburbs got some “real” stories to tell.
There is also a “Real Housewives of Athens” which has screened in Greece in 2011 and “The Real Housewives of Israel” which also screened in 2011.
If this ever comes to fruition I think I will have to smash my TV.
The gold coast is perfect for this! It could be called The Real Housewives of Paradise. Thoughts anyone?
