Still no host for The Voice?

Darren McMullen? James Mathison? We still don't have an official host for Nine's new talent series.

Despite the rumours, we still don’t have an official host for Nine’s new talent series The Voice.

Media speculation last year tipped Darren McMullen, but while the big name judges were confirmed at Nine’s 2012 launch, execs were tight-lipped on the host.

At the ARIA Awards, backstage host Jabba cheekily threw in a “See you on The Voice.” But TV Tonight understands that’s about the sum total of it.

Recently former Australian Idol co-host James Mathison seems to have become one of Nine’s new go-to guys.

On New Year’s Eve he was presenting live crosses from the Sydney Resolution concert with Pet Shop Boys, Jamiroquai and Culture Club. He was also a Logies Red Carpet presenter in May, having previously been aligned with TEN.

With his Idol experience, could he be one of the front-runners?

Former Idol co-presenter and avid photographer Andrew Gunsberg, who has recently split from wife Noa Tishby will next be seen on ABC, presenting Photo Finish.

  1. David Campbell would be a good host…he is a triple threat in this business and has full understanding of what contestants would be going through.

  2. I already been seeing “2012” ads featuring the Voice… Which made me think that the auditions are already held, but I haven’t heard anything and since they don’t have a host yet, I’d be keen to try out!

  3. He’s a bore … totally wrong for The Voice … needs to be someone with some musical talent as well …. biggest problem is that it is on Nine and they have an unappealing stable of talent …

A wrong choice of host will severely damage the show ….
