well its better than SBS and ABC, showing 5 year old docos, bought on the cheap from international markets…2 in this case tonight, the Wildlife vet show and some Aust to Tokyo overland show, add to that the endless stream of pommie cooking shows, home reno shows, even a kombi van travelling cooking show…no wonder our local production industry is non existant…all these cheap and dated imports…
I love that they’re playing YTT in it’s old Saturday 6.30 timeslot.
I heard a rumour they are going to replay the 1984 LA Olympic Telecasts 😉
Any chance they could replay Australian Idol 2003 and 2004.
Why not repeat New Girl, isn’t it the most successful of their new lineup? I missed all of this weeks Super Sunday, including New Girl!
YTT is good family TV but doesn’t warrant this many outings. They will kill it for sure.
Homeland on the other hand is better for the repeats. I missed the premiere due to a storm that knocks our signal from 10 every time and had I not caught an encore I wouldn’t have worried about the series at all because the thread would already have been lost for me.
ABC does it the best with ABC2 when they screen their encores at the same time every week. Doesn’t seem that hard to me but I’m no programmer.
I remember watching the original YTT on a Saturday night. If I remember correctly it was on at 6.30p.m.
It’s terrible to live in the past at times but surely if they aired this new version of the show on a Saturday night it would stir some memories in people and get more of them to watch it, therefore making their ratings even better?
Yes!! i missed my Homeland episode on sunday due to me going out to eat and only being able to watch the tennis on their tv screen. But wished they also would also show a repeat of new girl :(.
And yet again, Ten is doing everything they can to kill a show that is successful for them. The ratings have been good so far, Ten will kill them in no time with over exposure.
Is desperate times call for desperate measures. YYT is at a desperate measure to get viewers and positive feedback. One repeat does it. 3 kills it.
It would be even better if they would instead repeat Young Talent Time episodes from the 1980’s.
As far as I can see, these shows are doing well. I think there’s a risk of over exposure
Ops sorry didn’t see the one re-run on ELEVEN in the middle of the day…
IMO it need to be a constant and not moved all over the place.
I like the encore screenings but why not use ONE or ch11?
Glad Homeland’s getting a repeat, I don’t know if it’s just me, but wasn’t able to watch Sunday’s episode (missed due to work) on Ten’s website, the only video available in the Homeland playlist was an interview with Clare Danes.
This is a good habit the networks are getting into – encore screenings.
Now, for this Thursday night – I’m aware the ABC has already scheduled a repeat of Ep 1 of the Straights (10.30 Fri – ABC2). This is Programming Leadership.
Our household needs to know (in advance, please programmers) when ABC2 will schedule an encore of Psychoville (9pm)… when 9 will encore screen the series return of CSI (8.30)… if 7 will re- run the 8.30 2 hour block of Desperate Housewives next Thursday at noon… when 10’s weekly encore of A Gifted Man (an early start – 8pm) will get a showing… and will 7-Two’s Sherlock Holmes Mystery (8.30) get another dust-off?
Six personal favourite programme clashes on Thursday night, an evening I thought was the weekly introduction to the Programmers’ Graveyard.
We just ain’t got enough recorders in the house !!!
@Bruce S – Nice 🙂
Waiting for 10 to start repeats of the 7PM Project from 2010
Hmmm. What happened to ‘What starts on 11 stays on 11″? Now they are sharing repeats with Ten.
Wow, talk about overkill.
The Encore Network
Suggests how much is riding on these shows for TEN.
Um… why? Oh wait – it’s channel 10.
Wow! One repeat of Young Talent Time would of been enough.
