With Nine deliberating on the future of Excess Baggage, it has scheduled several timeslots for next week at late notice, having already missed many print deadlines.

But Nine was waiting to see the figures for Monday’s Excess Baggage, which were ultimately disappointing. In light of the numbers, it eventually made the right decision. But three episodes of The Big Bang Theory is a surprise.

With 22 episodes produced for Big Bang Nine is already halfway through the season. The show has been played 77 times since January 1st, and a whopping 140 times since ratings finished in the first week of December.

A lot of young girls move to New York City to “make it”, but Max and Caroline are just trying to make their rent.

Two girls from very different backgrounds – Max, poor from birth, and Caroline, born wealthy but down on her luck – wind up as waitresses in the same colourful Brooklyn diner. They strike up an unlikely friendship that could lead to a successful business venture. All they need to do is find $250,000 to start it up.

Sassy, streetwise Max Black (Kat Dennings) works two jobs just to get by, including her waitress night shift at the retro-hip Williamsburg Diner. Sophisticated Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) is an uptown trust-fund princess having a run of bad luck that forces her to reluctantly give waitressing a shot.

At first, Max sees Caroline as yet another in a long line of inept servers she must cover for, but she’s surprised to find that Caroline has as much substance as style.

When Caroline discovers Max’s knack for baking amazing cupcakes she sees a lucrative future for them, but they first need to raise the start-up money. While saving their tips, they work with Oleg (Jonathan Kite), an overly flirtatious Russian cook; Earl (Garrett Morris), a 75-year-old cashier and cool cat; and Han Lee (Matthew Moy), the new, eager-to-please owner of the diner.

Working together, these two broke girls living in one very expensive city might just find the perfect recipe for their big break.

2 Broke Girls, created by Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City), infuses classic comedy with something new, current and young, proving that life can be fun – even if you’re broke.

  1. @ Lisa – if your taking about TBBT it ends with credits on a black screen if you’ve seen the DVDs and the vanity card right at the end, so not scenes are cut but sometimes the vanity card goes MIA.

I’ve seen some of 2 Broke Girls but not really got into it yes and like others here I think it will eventually be moved to GO! its just a matter of time.

  2. “2 Broke Girls” is actually a very funny sitcom. Just depends if it clicks with the “Nine Audience”. I’ve watched 15 episodes (to date) and Kat Dennings & Beth Behrs are excellent together. Just wait for the “tampon” episode!

  3. Best news is Big Bang is coming quick and fast. Love the show and one of the few i watch on Nine but once it goes then Nine get left with nothing. After week 1 of the ratings Nine will have 8 episodes left. Its a stupid idea. Seven are doing the same with HIMYM but the 2 big differences is one is a big hit one is a lower performer. Both are great and i love the fact i get to see them earlier than i would expect but then this means more and more repeats very quickly. Nine just love shooting themselves in the foot.

2 Broke Girls is a great great comedy. It gets better as the episodes go on. Tuesday night though? It should be Mondays at 8pm not Tuesdays. It could end up like Mike and Molly or The Middle because of this move. Yes it could end up like Big Bang too but its a big risk and so far Nine, risks and 2012 are not going too well to date.

  4. What the hell is up with Ch 9? BBT is obviously their most popular show, or they wouldn’t keep dumping episodes, yet they treat fans like garbage. Not only are they popping up new episodes willy nilly but cutting off the ends of the new episode, so you cant read the vanity card and I suspect the final scene is missing too. Management obviously have no idea what their viewers want to see as crap show after show flops into oblivion. They keep switching timeslots at the last minute so you can’t keep track and making shows run overtime and destroy the end credits of movies. It’s like they really don’t want viewers any more.

  5. It doesn’t make sense for Nine to blow 3 new eps of TBBT in one week when they only 13 left in season 5.

David they have a 24 ep order in S5 from all accounts, not 22.

Obviously they can’t keep this up as ep 16 doesn’t air in the US until later this week. So next week they will only have ep 15 & 16 on hand. And to make matters worse TBBT will be having a short hiatus soon so Nine will be caught up and out of new eps to air.

I thought they were holding back so they could run the show continually until the end of the US season? But once again viewers not in the know will be left guessing each time they tune as to if they are watching a new program or not.
