Cast changes for American Horror Story

It's good news and bad news for American Horror Story's second season.

It’s good news and bad news for American Horror Story‘s second season.

At the Golden Globe Awards Jessica Lange told reporters she was still mulling her future for the second season.

The good news is she’s back. No doubt that award helped seal the deal.

Now the bad news.

Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott and Taissa Farmiga, who were the Harmon family, are all out.

Ryan Murphy plans to reboot the series with a new house, cast and location.

“I’m in negotiations with four of the people who were on last year’s show, none of them were the Harmons,” he said.

These moves had been raised before in the press, but now Murphy is confirming his plans.

So which four do you want to see back?

  1. I think it’s always been said that any cast from the last season that came back would be different characters. Glad Jessica Lange is back. I’d like to see Evan Peters (Tate) and Kate Mara (Hayden) again.

The only thing I’m worried about is Ryan Murphy’s ability to have a really great first season and then a terrible second season. Here’s hoping this is an exception.

  2. That’s all well and good, except for one thing:

It’s not a reboot (don’t get me started on how much I loathe that word) – a so-called reboot would imply that the existing story is getting retold. Shaun Murphy has stated that it is a new story, with new characters (possibly some crossover actors playing new roles, but we shall see). The “American Horror Story” label was only intended to be an overall title for a number of single series length stories, presented anthology style.

  3. Taissa Farmiga was my favorite and would love to see her sister Vera Farmiga involved, saw her in one of those TV supernaturals and of course “Orphan” those eyes can get really creepy if not beautiful.

  4. The actor who played Tate was actually really surprising and kept me watching. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t one of the supposed 4 from the first season.

  5. That explains why the house was for sale recently, they would have finished all the filming some months earlier and already decided they didnt need to house for any future exterior scenes.

I’d expect the other cast would be Tate, the demon child of the Harmons which Jessica Lange stole, the burnt face guy and probably one of the cops who may begin investigating dissapearances/deaths that seem familiar to the Harmons and previous residents of the house.

  6. Weee! I am excited! I hope Zachary Quinto comes back! The guy who played Tate was also great. I was very unprepared for just how much I would love this show.

  7. i Love jessica lange, but a bit confused as to how they’ll work her into the show with a location change…

i hope tate stays – love his character!

  8. As long as Jessica “Fabulous” Lange is back, that’s all that matters..

although if I had to be greedy I would really love to see Sarah Paulson’s character return. I’ve loved her acting ever since American Gothic. Her character of the medium brings in an interesting insight to the story lines as well…
