Politics no match for cooking

In the midst of headlines it was cooking that bettered the political news on Wednesday -on Seven.

In the midst of headlines, and on the day that Kitchen Cabinet premieres on ABC2, it was cooking that bettered the political news.

Seven News (1.2m) pipped Nine News (1.18m) yesterday, but Nine ranked first in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

ABC News pulled 1.00m and TEN News, which went to air as Rudd’s resignation was unfolding, was 636,000.

But it was My Kitchen Rules hitting 1.63m viewers that again led the night.

Today Tonight attracted 1.02m,  Please Marry my Boy was 1.02m, Home and Away was 1.00m and The Amazing Race debuted to 491,000.

ACA was 860,000 on Nine followed by Sherlock (729,000) and The Big Bang Theory (725,000 / 694,000).

The Biggest Loser was 666,000 for TEN. Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation as 627,000 and The Good Wife was 519,000 and The Project was 422,000.

7:30‘s coverage of the Rudd resignation pulled 744,000 but it dropped to 543,000 for Woodley -which attracted great praise on Twitter- with Gordon Street Tonight on 549,000. Outland was down to a disappointing 200,000.

Arctic with Bruce Parry was 276,000 on SBS ONE.

Neighbours was 313,000 on multichannels. The premiere of Kitchen Cabinet (pictured) was 192,000 on ABC2.

Seven won Wednesday.

  1. I knew about this show but I didn’t know what it was called so when I saw it on my EPG, I didn’t even give it a second thought because I thought it was literally a show about kitchen cabinets (which I thought was plausible given some of the niche programming on the ABC).

…woops haha. I’m gonna have to iView it.
