Desperate deadlock in Housewives trial

The jury in the Desperate Housewives trial is locked will resume deliberations on Monday.

The jury in the Desperate Housewives said it is “hopelessly deadlocked” on a verdict, after a second day of deliberations.

If they can’t come to a verdict, Judge Elizabeth Allen White told them, she’ll have to declare a mistrial. “I know how frustrating this must be,” she said.

Sheridan’s lawyer Mark Baute told media “We believe it is 8 to 4 in our favor.” The hold up, he said is that “the foreman is against us.”

Both sides also met with Judge White to try and negotiate a settlement behind closed doors.

“The judge asked us to come down and speak to the other side,” defense attorney Adam Levin said outside Judge Bendix’s courtroom, “and we did so and absolutely nothing has changed.”

The jury has been instructed to consider the case over the weekend and return on Monday.
