  1. I bought the Logies Moments special from the newsagency today. As a fan of Neighbours, could you imagine how furious I was when the image of Margot Robbie was incorrectly captioned as Samara Weaving (Home and Away). Absolutely appalled at TV Week. Absolutely appalled! I paid $8.95 for it and they just had to eff it up!

  2. As has already been mentioned, Hamish has a loyal fanbase from his radio days who would vote for him regardless of the quality of his TV show. I guess time will tell whether that’s enough to get him over the line.

  3. If you pick up a copy of TV Week this week, notice that where Ready Steady Cook is acknowledged for Most Popular Lifestyle Program, the image is a pic of Peter Everett and not Colin Lane! (Even though the nomination is for the recent series hosted by Lane)

  4. Do you think Hamish may have got voted because of his radio work. I know its a tv award but if you listen to Hamish and Andy on there radio show and you like him then I guess some people would vote for him.

So Karl’s win last year wasnt because of today doing a publicity thing to vote. people do like him.

Esther I can see why she got nominated. As a home and away viewer she was a great actress and her character had some major storylines last year and people liked the charlie/Brax relationship then she died so of course that draws votes.

I have no issue with them except Karl. God I hope Adam Hills wins. He would make a great speech plus he’s the nicest guy on tv.

  5. @ Menicci deffanity right where is TAR

Its a little unfare how Hamish gets nomination for Gold Logie but Andy doesnt. If anything they should both be given a joint nomination because they would be nothing without each other.

  6. Carrie is the worst female on tv. Sexist, naive and surprisingly uninformed about so much despite being a ‘journalist’. It must be end of days if she is considered the best at anything!

  7. Congrats to Chrissie, wish the rest of the Circle team got more noms.

Esther Anderson was woeful at best, so she’s up because her character got killed off? #joke

  8. How can Tiffiny Hall (Trainer, The Biggest Loser) be in the run to win an award? She is a PT on a reality show, show an actor. These nominations make no sense. And once again, no Jackie Woodburne nomintations.

  9. I will be watching the Logies this year live on TV. The popular awards are weak and almost useless but the I do believe in the worth of the peer voted awards, a true indication of the worth of TV here in Australia and how we stand when compared to the rest of the world when it comes to TV.

  10. the logies should be conducted by an association that has absolutely No connection with Any of the networks, the fact that nine owns TV Week, proves that its all total bull*

how do you feel about TV Tonight taking over? 😛

  11. I can’t believe The Amazing Race is not there somewhere, it was, in my opinion the best show of 2011! And echoing the thoughts of many others, I will be happy for Any of the others to win the Gold except Karl.

  12. @JBar: It’s not the first digital channel nomination, though it may be considered the first “most popular” nomination to come from a digital channel. ABC3 has been nominated and has won for My Place and Dance Academy in the Most Outstanding categories in previous years.

  13. Shouldn’t the nomination for James Mason (Chris Pappas, Neighbours, Network Ten) actually be listed as Eleven? Is this the first ever nomination for a digital multi-channel show?

  14. Ratings doesn’t reflect voting popularity. And voting popularity doesn’t reflect ratings.

Not everyone has a ratings box at home. And not everyone who watches TV will vote in the Logies.

Despite not agreeing with Karl or Carrie getting in for Gold, they obviously have the votes. Their shows are on 5-6 days a week throughout an entire year. That’s constant exposure and even with low ratings, their viewers can add up to a lot of different people throughout the year. They obviously have the support.

  15. I hope Rob Carlton wins the Silver for his portrayal of Kerry Packer. I will never understand why Nine insisted on doing the World Series Cricket drama series and did not ensure Rob was cast as KP after he did such a great job in Paper Giants. It will be an awkward/funny moment if he does get it!

  16. The Today Show, They copy Sunrise, copy their set and buy a gold logie. The Logie awards are now a joke and i am tipping this year they will come third in the ratings after DWTS and MC. I like the most outstanding part but when it comes to most popular, i think the ratings are a more accurate way to go. If Karl wins again this year, it will kill this awards show. No ratings, no awards.
