Seven dominates Monday

Ratings: There were huge viewing numbers for Monday night -but the lion's share went Seven's way.

With the end of a long weekend in several states there were huge viewing numbers last night -but the lion’s share went Seven’s way.

Seven doubled TEN’s share for the night, thanks to an extended My Kitchen Rules (1.92m) and Revenge (1.71m) -the latter also more than doubled Alcatraz and NCIS: LA despite its late starting time.

Also strong for Seven were Seven News (1.3m), Today Tonight (1.2m), Home and Away (977,000), How I Met Your Mother (619,000) and Happy Endings (321,000 / 217,000).

The Big Bang Theory was big for Nine on 1.31m (Repeats: 1.03m / 909,000), Nine News (1.1m), A Current Affair (967,000), Alcatraz (711,000), Person of Interest (454,000) and True CSI: Cold Blood (276,000).

The Biggest Loser had its biggest audience all season at 942,000. TEN News also won its slot at 5pm on 742,000. Bondi Rescue was 652,000, NCIS: LA was 525,000, The Project was 486,000 and Hawaii Five-0 was 353,000.

ABC News won its timeslot with 1.04m. Media Watch, which looked at Queensland election coverage, was next on 750,000 (ahead of other ABC shows no less), then Four Corners (740,000), 7:30 (720,000), Australian Story (718,000), and Q & A (659,000).

James May’s Man Labs was 150,000 for SBS ONE. Danger 5 was 111,000.

On multichannels Heartbeat was 316,000. Neighbours was 291,000. Dance Academy was 118,000. Excess Baggage was 84,000. Sports Fever was 47,000 (94,000 on Seven).

  1. So Nine’s core audience watch Big Bang Theory even when repeated. So what is wrong with this picture Nine? Ever heard of broadening your audience?
