ABC1 pips TEN in non-ratings week

Keeping up fresh content while commercials rested key shows, helped ABC1 to beat TEN's primary channel last week.

While commercial networks have been resting key shows for Easter non-ratings, ABC and SBS kept up fresh content and saw a lift in their figures.

ABC1 even pushed TEN’s primary channel into fourth place.

SBS increased its share, including SBS TWO nearly doubling its audience.

But once again Seven Network won the week with a 29.0% share followed by Nine 25.3%, TEN 19.8%, ABC 18.6% and SBS 7.4%.

Seven’s primary channel pulled 21.1%, then Nine 18.4%, ABC1 14.4%, TEN 13.6%, and SBS ONE 5.8%.

7TWO led multichannels with 4.4% followed by GO! 3.8%, ELEVEN 3.6%, 7mate 3.4%, Gem 3.1%, ABC2 2.7%, ONE 2.6%, SBS TWO 1.5%, ABC News 24 0.8% and ABC3 0.7%.

Nine News (Sunday) topped the week with 1.53m viewers.

Best for Seven was Revenge (1.41m). For ABC1 New Tricks (pictured) pulled 1.13m. Modern Family (1.05m) was TEN’s strongest and Who Do You Think You Are? (611,000) was best for SBS TWO.

Seven may have won key demos but it too was a much closer battle. Just 1.4% split the three commercial networks for 16-39, and Nine was 0.9% or less behind Seven in all three demos.

Nine won Sydney but Seven took out the other 4 metro capitals.

Seven won every night of the week except Friday, which fell to Nine.

TEN beat Nine on Tuesday. ABC tied with TEN on Monday and Thursday, beat them on Friday and thrashed them on Saturday.

We have one more week of Easter non-ratings remaining.
