Airdate: The Family (UK)

Meet this with British-Indian family, who have three generations all living under one roof.

After meeting the Cardamones last year, SBS screens the UK edition of The Family later this month.

It will air Season Two of the fly-on-the-wall series from 2009 with British-Indian family The Grewals who have three generations all living under one roof.

Cameras capture them 24 hours a day for two months for this 8 episode series.

Eldest son Sunny and Shay’s Indian wedding is fast approaching. Their experience is very different to that of parents Arvinder and Sarbjit, who had an arranged marriage 35 years ago and met for the first time on their wedding day.

Times have changed but their son’s joyous occasion is overshadowed by Shay’s difficult relationship with her own family. They don’t approve of her marriage to Sunny and her attempts to patch things up have so far not gone as planned. As Shay reaches out to her family to be by her side on the biggest day of her life, it remains to be seen whether her dreams of a reconciliation will come true.

8:30pm Thursday, 12 April SBS ONE.

  1. Sounds good! Looks like this season will actually have some exciting moments, unlike the Aussie counterpart.

I really enjoyed the first season of the UK series, I’m sure this one will be great also.
