Returning: Harry’s Law. Update: The Mentalist, Unforgettable.

More changes coming to Sundays on Nine after next week.

More changes to Nine’s Sunday line-up for Sunday April 29 (NB: This Sunday remains intact).

A new episode of The Mentalist will air at 8:40pm (S4E16) followed by a new Unforgettable (S1E15) at 9:40pm.

Harry’s Law returns to Nine at 10:35pm with S2E12, which is good news for fans who have been missing the Kathy Bates show.

Whether this means Mentalist / Unforgettable are out for Wednesday May 2 is unclear, but perhaps Nine is making room for Tricky Business on Wednesdays. If so, that would surely be a head to head fight with Offspring.

This Sunday sees a 2 hr The Voice episode (no 60 Minutes) before Beaconsfield.

  1. I know it’s just speculation but it’s as good a timeslot as any. Ch7 don’t have much and I don’t think Ch9 or Ch7 think much about what Ch10 has on.

  2. That leaves us with 11 eps to go of Harry’s Law (although Uni channel on Foxtel is screening 2 eps weekly and, hopefully, will catch up with 9 by the end of the FTA run.)

Alcatraz dies Monday night with the final ep.

Any clues if 9’s given up on this season’s CSI? Hasn’t been aired in Thursday night spot for some weeks now.

  3. I’m glad to see all these shows back on TV with so much chopping and changing with timeslots and repeats. I agree with nik c that it is rediculous how many ads they showed for about 3 months before they brought back CSI Miami only for them to stop after 3 episodes. I believe it was Charlie Pickering’s interview with TV Tonight in which he said that people don’t always follow a show to a new timeslot because they don’t rotate their lives around TV (obviously not the case for myself but not the point), and yet Nine seem to be doing it a lot and for no good reason. Universal Channel brought Harry’s Law and it is on every week in the same timeslot (8:30pm compared to Nine’s 9:30pm/10:30pm/11:30pm timeslots) until they ran out of episodes. Now why can’t the FTA networks do that?

  4. I just want to add (sorry David) that I agree with J Bar in that if these shows show up reliably on the same day people will probably expect them and watch them. So it becomes part of a routine. I know I prefer that.

  5. I’ll admit I’d hope they’d keep The Mentalist and Unforgettable on Wednesdays. Because if Unforgettable and Alcatraz aren’t renewed. Then maybe they could pair The Mentalist and Person of Interest together between 8.30-10.30pm on Wednesdays. Starting the latter from the first episode during the non-rating period at the end of the year. If they could have that be reliable then I’d watch Person of Interest during prime time. And hopefully other viewers will too.

  6. Nine need to give Tricky Business a decent slot like Sundays 8.30pm. Surely they aren’t planning to show it on Wednesdays in a late slot after Celebrity Apprentice finishes. Hopefully Nine will leave Harry’s Law there so viewers can find it and get into a routine.
