10 Comments:

  1. I watched Downton Abbey for the first time yesterday and found it a little confusing for the first 20 minutes. I never watched season one so there was an abundance of bloody characters and I couldn’t tell them apart

Around the 30 minute mark when Matthew came back from the war, one of the female characters decided to become a nurse, and they threw a benefit at the hospital for the war it started becomign a lot more clear and I found myself enjoying it. Doubt I’ll be back for another episode though, unless I watch it from the beginning

DA still got 2.5x the audience of Touch and almost 2x the audience of The Mentalist (800k), so that’s good

  2. Downton – 1,530,000
    Mentalist – 814,000
    Touch -602,000
    9,10, ABC1 all lost viewers to 7 at 8:30
Good to see support for quality programming, especially in Adelaide & Perth.
Am I missing something? Where did Downton get beaten?

  3. No offense to Downton Abbey fans…I am glad it did not top. I was hardly even in the demographics!! Bring on better shows to sunday nights

  4. I’m glad Downton Abbey did well. What I don’t get is as I was flicking through the channels to see what was on at 7.30pm Seven had them do a Dowton Abbey themed dance. Why not do that at the end of the show? So people flicking over to watch Downton Abbey could see it. Then there’d be a better reason to start it late. I’ll admit it did give me a chance to see some of the SBS show about Robert Heinlein however.
