FOX Sports appoints Chief Operating Officer

John O’Sullivan joins as Chief Operating Officer after roles with Queensland Events, Football Federation Australia and SOCOG.

FOX Sports has appointed John O’Sullivan as Chief Operating Officer.

He joins after two years as Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Events, a role he undertook after six years as Chief Commercial Officer at Football Federation Australia (FFA). He has also previously held positions with global television rights agency, Octagon CSI, and the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

O’Sullivan will be responsible for Digital, Public Affairs, and FOX Sports Stats and support CEO Patrick Delany, on strategy, major programming acquisitions, and relationships with key stakeholders.

Delany said O’Sullivan would be a strong addition to FOX Sports.

“He has a strong corporate, sports and business background with particular expertise in government affairs and deal making,” he said.

“John will be responsible for our relationships with government, suppliers and sporting bodies, as well as distributors. He will also drive our Digital business with our new Digital Director, Ben Kimber.

Mr O’Sullivan said: “I’ve always had a great association with FOX Sports from my time with the FFA and I’m really looking forward to working with the new management team, under the leadership of Patrick Delany, and taking the business forward.”

He begins in September, 2012.
