Russell Brand is currently hosting the MTV Movie Awards 2012 in Los Angeles and broadcast live to Australia on MTV.

The outrageous host is already dropping gags about John Travolta’s massages, Charlie Sheen and cocaine (Sheen is seated nearby but smiling at the gags) and the size of Michael Fassbinder’s penis.

Aussies nominated include Liam Hemsworth for ‘Breakthrough Performance’, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as ‘Best Hero’ and Joel Edgerton in the ‘Best Fight’ category.

Presenters include Charlie Sheen, Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Adam Sandler, Emma Watson, Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa will perform his single ‘Work Hard, PlayHard’ for the first time on television at the show. Rock duo The Black Keyswill perform their hit single “Gold On the Ceiling” off their certified RIAA Gold album “El Camino”. Also confirmed is global music producer-performer, deejay and MTV Push artist Martin Solveig as MTV Movie Awards house DJ. Included in the line-up, is indie pop rockers fun, who will perform their smash breakthrough hit ‘We Are Young’ (featuring Janelle Monae).

• Exclusive Sneak Peeks: The 2012 MTV Movie Awards will feature exclusive footage from Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ highly anticipated film “The Dark Knight Rises”, with director, writer, producer Christopher Nolan and actors Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman on hand to celebrate the “Dark Knight” trilogy.

11am AEST on MTV and repeated 3pm & 6.30pm.

  3. Ugh, when will he go away? He might as well stick to presenting teen awards and doing stand-up, because no one will pay to see him in movies.
