Seven suspends reporter over staged paparazzi pics

Today Tonight reporter Jonathan Creek has been suspended by Seven after assisting in staging fake paparazzi photos of Simone Callahan and boyfriend Toby Roberts, which were later sold to New Idea and Woman’s Day.

Shane Warne’s ex was allegedly tricked into pre-arranged paparazzi photoshoots by her new boyfriend, who reportedly accepted money from photographers to stage romantic moments.

Creek is reported to have helped set up the snaps and allegedly pocketed money out of the sale of the couple to the magazines.

Seven’s head of news and current affairs Peter Meakin said, “We take this kind of thing very seriously.

“We are conducting an investigation and while it is ongoing Mr Creek has not been in at work. I cannot comment one way or the other while this is ongoing as I have to protect our position and his.

“We intend to establish exactly what happened and look into the allegations.”

Simone Callahan said she had no idea the pictures had involved a deal.

There is also speculation about a second set of images that were sold.
