Tricky Business update

From next week Nine’s Tricky Business moves to a new timeslot of 8pm Mondays, following one hour of The Block.

Although this will be the fourth timeslot for the new drama, Nine is certainly trying to give it every kind of leg-up from lead-ins (a reminder to click on the show Tags at TV Tonight to keep track of programming moves for popular shows, or try the drop-down menus).

Tricky Business airs at 9pm tonight, presuming The Voice ends on time (it won’t).

Meanwhile Nine will have no fewer than 7 repeats of Big Bang next week -and that’s not including any on GO!

  1. Only watched the first episode but it had that LAC feel about it. Unless it’s just relying on the people watching the block to stick around, I think this show will go the way of Gifted Man when it went to 8pm on Ch10 – You can’t start an hour drama on the hour.

  2. TAGS: Tags in the margin to the right are shows that generate the most stories. But in the Menu above you will see TARA underneath Seven. As the US show is off air it isn’t listed there.

Also, at the end of every story the shows mentioned are tagged. Any of these clicks will get you the same result. If you still can’t see a show, you can type it in manually using the tag format (name-of-show) and it will bring it up. I’ve tried to simplify via the menu above for shows on air or coming soon. Hope that helps.

  3. David, I know it’s off topic but you mention the thos Tags and I was wondering why there isn’t one for The Amazing Race (Australia or U.S.). I mainly wanted to know if there is a reason for the recent move from 9pm (ish) Wednesdays to 7.30 Mondays.

As for The Tricky Business move in timeslot I hope this will give it the chance it deserves because I think it’s pretty good.

  4. So typical of 9.Big Bang Theory is great but please don’t do it over and over again people will get fed up and find other things at 7pm to watch via Multi Channels or other things to do instead.

  5. Hey David, do you know if this means Person of Interest will be put back into the schedule? There were only 3 eps left in the season before Nine pulled it.

  6. I think it’s a good move putting Tricky Business at 8pm but once it’s there they need to stick with it. And stop with the Big Bang repeats. Everyone is absolutely sick of it and its certainly a way to get people to switch off to another network (and once they’re gone, they aren’t as likely to come back for the night). How hard can it honestly be. They are hopeless at programming at Ch9.

  7. 9 hasn’t learned anything since the network’s early days.

In the dark ages (1956-1963), 9 used to screen kid shows like Jet Jackson (39 episodes), Circus Boy (49 eps), Mickey Mouse Club (125 eps enough for 25 weeks), Casey Jones (32 eps), Tales of Texas Rangers (52 eps) etc etc.

Packer (Sir Frank) would have ’em running continuously in a never ending cycle 5 days a week.

When I picked up a bootleg DVD of the Jet Jackson series a few years ago I was amazed that I could remember the dialogue practically word for word ! No wonder !!!

  8. Nine are slowly turning into the 2.5 men,Big bang Theory and Underbelly Network. The Only Comedy keeping them alive are Two Broke Girls as well as their Morning Show and their daytime talk shows.

Something other than more BBT at 8pm once a week would be nice.

  9. Typical channel 9 they don’t realize by constantly changing new shows time slots that pisses off viewers and they give up and don’t watch

7 repeats of TBBT again this is typical channel 9 when they have a rare hit they kill it by showing it so many times people get sick of seeing the same episodes again and again that they give up and stop watching
