Foxtel on Xbox reaches regional Australia

Foxtel on Xbox 360 is now available across the country in both metropolitan and regional Australia.

From today, Foxtel on Xbox 360 is available across the country in both metropolitan and regional Australia via the internet and Xbox Live.

The service allows XBox 360 subscribers view a selection of Foxtel channels at a lower rate than television subscription and without installation costs. Channels include FOX8, LifeStyle YOU, FOOTY PLAY, showcase, MTV, Nickelodeon and ESPN, six BigPond TV channels, as well as Catch Up TV and On Demand library content.

In addition to these packages, Foxtel on Xbox 360 customers can sign up for the London 2012 Olympic Games channels to watch eight dedicated LONDON 2012 channels including every Gold Medal LIVE starting from July 25, 2012.

Regional customers can download the Foxtel on Xbox 360 App from July 2, 2012, and register online at www.foxtel.com.au/xbox. Users must subscribe to both the Xbox Live service and the Foxtel on Xbox 360 service. An Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for all live TV packages. Customers require a high-speed Internet connection (2mbps or greater).

Foxtel on Xbox 360 is also available with voice and gesture control using the Kinect sensor.

Telstra BigPond broadband customers are not charged for any data when watching video content on Foxtel on Xbox 360.

Choose the amount of data used when watching live streamed TV by selecting the “Change Quality” option when watching a channel, and pick from the High, Medium or Low settings. The download file size of Catch Up TV and On Demand movies or TV episodes varies depending on the duration of the title selected, and this information is clearly communicated onscreen prior to viewing on Foxtel on Xbox 360.

  1. Thanks for following up on this one David. I appreciate it.
I must say, for the limited shows they actually offer, it doesn’t really seem worth the money.
