Immortal, which followed the work of Nobel Prize-winning Australian scientist Professor Elizabeth Blackburn was retitled as Decoding Immortality for the Smithsonian Channel in the US.

Produced by December Films, it has been nominated in the Outstanding Science and Technology Programming category.

Five years in the making, it was written and directed by Sonya Pemberton and produced by December Films and commissioned for SBS by John Godfrey.

The News & Documentary Emmy Awards will be presented in October at the Time Warner Center in New York.
