US observational series Gene Simmon’s Family Jewels has been axed by A&E Network, following a drop in ratings.
“We could not be more proud of the unparalled run of Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” A&E said in a statement.
The KISS star added, “It has been a wonderful life-altering experience for our family and after seven successful seasons, we feel it’s time to move on.”
The axing follows the cancellation of Dog the Bounty Hunter in May after eight seasons.
Family Jewels averaged around 1 million US viewers, down from the record 3 million who tuned in for the season finale last summer.

Was rubbish anyways!
This is dissapointing.
I really enjoyed the last series with the phsycologist and Gene going home and ultimately the wedding.
Noooooooooo!!!!!
@David, I thought you’d use ‘disemboweled’ instead of ‘axed’ this time round :)
Cute.
Noooooo! I’m not a fan of KISS and I have reality TV, and I know 1/2 of the stuff on the show is fake (Owning an AFL club?). But I love this show and the relationship between the kids and the parents, which isn’t faked. Gene may be the Devil incarnate to some but he and his (finally) wife have done a great job raising two kids who seem pretty grounded.
I just love the title of this article ;)
