MTV has confirmed that the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be its last.
This ends speculation that the network would maintain the franchise with a new cast.
The fly-on-the-wall look at a group of party-obsessed friends has been MTV’s most successful series of all time, earning consistently strong ratings throughout its five-season run. The show peaked in late 2011 at nearly 9 million US viewers and pulled in cable’s best numbers among adults 18-49. The most recent run premiered to 7.6 million viewers.
The final season premieres in Australia in late October.
MTV recently renewed spinoff Snooki & JWoww which premieres in Australia at 9pm Wednesday September 19.

Thank Goodness.Whatever happened to quality TV.If I was a parent with kids Today I would sooner buy them a Degrassi Box Set and make them watch that instead of dumbing them down with brainless muck like this.
Faith in humanity: restored.
