New series ahead for Michael J. Fox

US networks are said to be interested in a new project from Michael J. Fox, inspired by his own life.

US networks are said to be interested in a new project from Michael J. Fox, inspired by his own life.

The former Family Ties and Spin City star has teamed with director Will Gluck (Easy A) and writer Sam Laybourne (Cougar Town, Arrested Development) on a single-camera comedy project that’s being developed by Sony Pictures Television for a 2013 launch.

Vulture reports all four major network chiefs have heard the pitch, and industry sources say it’s now just a matter of which network will offer the most attractive deal.

One network is rumoured to be offering to go straight to series, something that hardly ever happens in broadcast TV anymore.

Fox recently appeared in multiple episodes of The Good Wife.

  1. He had one of the best storylines on Boston Legal, poignant. Check out Season 2 of it.

@Josh777, the last episode of Spin City with him in it always gets me.

  2. He’s a brilliant actor and when he started on The Good Wife I couldn’t believe how sad it was for him not to be on our TV’s for so many years. I still remember the last footage of Spin City when he quit and his Parkinson’s was beginning to show and how sad it was that he quit because of it. He is a role model to all that everything in life can be overcome. Only downside to this news is that it means he won’t be on The Good Wife anymore =(

  3. I will definitely be watching if this happens. I Love him! Just been watching some Family Ties repeats on Eleven. And he was one of the best guest stars ever to appear on Scrubs.
