Survivor has announced its cast for the 25th season, which includes 3 former contestants returning.
The returning contestants are Michael Skupin, who fell into a campfire and burned his hands on Survivor: The Australian Outback; Russell Swan, who became unconscious as a result of dehydration during a challenge on Survivor: Samoa and Swan and Jonathan Penner, who originally competed on Survivor: Cook Islands, season 13, but returned three seasons later for Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites, during which his knee became infected. What no Colton….?
Amongst the new contestants are a former San Francisco Giants baseball player and The Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel (aka Blair), a former Miss Delaware and a former Miss Utah Teen, a Sex Therapist, a Cosmetologist, and a 53 year old Computer Engineer.
I’m just pleased they are finally moving beyond Samoa which has been home to the show for about the last 3 or 4 seasons.

Go on channel nine,do the right thing and give us survivor fans a go.Please run it in line with the U.S and give us a decent time slot,or at the very least put it on catch up tv.
Won’t hold my breath… waiting for it to show on Ch9. If it was given a decent time slot without all the time changes it would easily build a decent following and get good ratings for the television network.
Personally very glad that Colton isn’t coming back. When they first announced the concept I thought it was just an excuse to have him back. Although I’m sure they’ll have him on a future season, I’m really glad it’s not this one.
I found him irritating to watch to the point of hating to watch him – it was far beyond love to hate, he was just horrible and inconsiderate to so many people and showed no remorse whatsoever. Behaviour that shouldn’t be glorified in any way!
Here is another Facts Of Life, Nine will run repeats of Big Bang instead of fast tracking this.
Thank God, no Colton, he was so annoying. I really liked Jonathan penner and glad he’s returning.
I’ve interviewed Skupin, Russ & Penner and all 3 are great guys. Looking likely to be a very interesting season indeed!
Note to Channel 9 : Remember you have two alternate channels now. They are called GO! and GEM. That is all.
we’d have to be insane to imagine that this will be shown by 9 in line with it’s run in the states…. wouldn’t we?
i mean… having been a fan for the whole 25 seasons… i’m just used to it being treated like crap by them now… and they wonder y it doesnt rate?
In the states it’s very much known as a “family” show and is shown earlier in the night…. airing it around 11pm (and alot of times double eps) is just silly
I remember yonks ago now, 9 had a run of showing them on a Saturday night at like 7:30… n as i remember it seemed to rate fairly well for them
I really hate it when they bring back previous contestants.
Save them for the novelty ‘Fans vs Favorites’ series.
But what is going on with that former Facts of Life star?
Shouldn’t ‘celebrities’ be saved for a ‘Celebrity Survivor?’
Oh well – I’m a tragic Survivor addict and will watch again – as long as Nine doesn’t schedule it at almost midnight.
Please Nine – put it on Go! or Gem and at a decent time.

oh & who can forget Micheal Skupin falling in the fire during season 2. He probably could have won that season.
Jonathan Penner has played twice now (Cook Islands & Micronesia), this will be his third time around the Survivor wheel. Russell went out early in his season (Samoa) he was the good Russell as opposed to evil Russell Hantz.
Hopefully Ch9 come to the party & support the show & fast track it. It’s Season 25!! seems like it may just have a following….!!
The casting has been improving the last few seasons and I’m glad for the location change. Its been a bit repetitive last few seasons.
I really enjoyed the ‘One World’ concept, a greater chance for alliances and strategy, but having male/ female tribes kind of defeated its potential. Hopefully see it again soon.
I’m not surprised Colton didn’t return, he coped a lot of flak for his comments (which were blown out of proportion btw), but great tele…

Yeah, I’m stunned that there’s no Colton either. He was an odious weasel but great television. I can barely remember Russell and Johnathan though. Michael deserves another chance coz that was a horrific accident – but he is a born again Christian so I hope he doesn’t come heavy with that stuff.
