2nd House lie fools (most of) the Big Brother housemates

Were the Big Brother housemates really fooled?

Last night they sure looked shocked when Sonia Kruger faked talk of another house in what was supposed to look like a technical slip up on the housemates’ monitor.

There were plenty of jaws on the floor. Ray looked like he was about to swallow a golf ball.

As a trick it certainly played with their heads. But Layla wasn’t convinced at all. She noticed that the audience was laughing as Kruger spoke. Yep, because they were watching the housemates in shock.

“It’s a joke!” she insisted. “They were all laughing!”

Some of the fantasy elements of BB are proving to be the most promising aspects of the season thus far, and housemates have been quick to play along the spirit of it all.

Meanwhile Ryan was evicted last night, with Benjamin and Bradley remaining for another week.

  1. If I was BB – I would put them all up for nomination and then annouce that half of house 1 will be evicted to be repalced with the remaining House 2 survivors – that would make a great week of viewing!

  3. Last night how sonia did it was good however it was quite easily to determin the housemates more then likely it was fake. Because here what was meant to feel fake for them… When sonia spoke they still hear her talking about house 2 but then it was cut out and black screen straight after she said the name of the fake housemate. Seriously if they want to fool them… they should do it correctly as in continue to conversation and say house 1 and house 2 and… (cut) dont let it continue.. because its obviously the most housemates know easily it was fake.. and didnt turn out too well…. if i was in the bb house and became a housemate i would know she was faking it. Its easy to determin what made it looked stupid and fake its because the screen went blank straight after she said hosue 2 and evicty sam… (cut screen)

    Wouldnt it be more realistic if she spoke like she did but only cut straight away as she said the name) so instead os sam.. you could hear sa… (black screen) rather then cut it right after she mention the fake name sam….

    seriously i think it was bad set up.. its a nice try but really people not stupid in the bb house.. it was sort of lame how big brother set that up.. aniways thats my opinion.

  4. According to the official diary, after the live show last night, Big Brother fake apologised for the HMs “accidentally” seeing what they shouldn’t have seen. He also explained the audience were laughing because they could see that the HMs could still see the screens. They then showed them the fake footage of House 2 as a fake Channel 9 promo ad. For this week’s task, the real HMs will be told they are competing against House 2 in various challenges.

  5. this could have worked if they had a few more glitches here and there through the broadcast to make it look more realistic. as if bb would slip up with something like that!

  8. Looks like they had a technical glitch when doing a fake technical glitch! Would have been good to watch on livestream -sigh!

    Looks like it worked, but I guess you can take any group in isolation, craving for stimulation and you can convince them almost anything. I guess it’s kind of like how pensioners locked indoors watching Today Tonight think of the world.

Does anyone know if these kind of shows, and even shows like network news that throw out daily questions requiring sms 50c per call responses generate significant revenue this way?I know my sister used to vote like crazy on Big Brother,and I’d just shake my head on the amount of money she was throwing away.

  10. They should of prerecorded it like they did when Ryan left the house, it only took seconds for him to leave the BB compound and be on stage. Also I find it funny that the only person that thought it was fake was Layla, the HM that thought they would literally have to eat metal staples for the week and the one that thought ice cream cones come with ice cream.

  11. Hi David, Love love loving BB this year. The UK series never had a fake house – just a fake Housemate who they pretended was Australian. This is a world first I believe and from what I have read online seems to have them completely believing it – cant wait to see fallout tonight.

  12. The amount of noise the audience made definitely would have given it away.. Perhaps they should have pre-recorded that part without the audience, or maybe used a different microphone to not pick up so much background noise (or turn off the mics that capture audience noise at least)

    Also what happened to the footage of the actors? I thought the housemates were going to see the feed from the other house?

    What happens now? Another technical glitch?
