FOX8 will fast-track new US Drama Revolution from JJ Abrams later this month.

As promised, FOX8 will fast-track new US Drama Revolution from JJ Abrams later this month.

Revolution stars Twilight actor Billy Burke and is set in a post-apocalyptic future where all advanced technology and electricity on the planet is disabled. It also features Supernatural’s Eric Kripke and Lost actress Elizabeth Mitchell.

Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? One day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust into darkness. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why? Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it? On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman’s life changes forever when her father, who mysteriously – and unbeknownst to her – had something to do with the blackout, is brutally murdered, setting her on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future. In this surprising “what if” action-adventure series an unlikely hero will lead the world out of the dark. Literally.

Wednesdays from September 19 at 8.30pm.

  1. I wish a free-to-air channel would play this even a year later especially if it gets renewed. I hope if it’s good that they’d play it either at 8.30pm or 9.30pm.

When did you stop watching Fringe? Because I recommend you try it again. I can understand if you quit it early on as it took its time to find itself. Although I think most of the characters other than Broyles were there. Plus worth the effort to watch. Also unless they totally stuff up the fifth season it’s worth seeing the journey they take up to the end of the fourth season. It makes more sense with its mythology than the X-Files. I dare you to watch up to the end of the second season. The second season also has the episode called Peter. The third season just takes off and never looks back although the end might worry you.

  2. Still love Lost even with that ending, Fringe is a fav of mine, can’t wait for the new season. Didn’t get into Alcatraz.

Hope this one doesn’t become another FlashForward or The Event.

  3. I enjoyed Lost, hated Fringe and thought Alcatraz was shite. Perhaps this show could be better?

I won’t hold my breath. Reviews for this show on IMDB and other websites have been lukewarm at best.

  4. I have my fingers cross that this will be good and that it won’t peter out into a maelstrom of inexplicable plot lines and disappear eventually with a whimper.
