The ARIA Awards will once again screen on GO!
Organisers have revamped the music industry awards to comprise ARIA Week, a week-long festival, celebrating local artists.
The awards will take place on Thursday November 29 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Public votes will decide Single Of The Year, Best Video, Best Australian Live Act and Best International Act, in a bid to attract more audience.
ARIA Week will also feature an industry conference.
ARIA chief executive Dan Rosen told the Daily Telegraph, “Ultimately I would like to get to the position where it’s part of an awards grand slam.”
Last year GO! picked up belated broadcast rights with Kylie Minogue and The Wiggles inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Nominations will be announced on October 3.

@KFed…. have to largely agree. I have the feeling these awards will simply tip the hat to winners of series like the Voice and people like Guy Sebastian etc… “winners and hosts” in other words…with the usual Veronicas, Ruby Rose etc all on show.
And yes, the token international act award where the artists sort of deems us a moment of their time from far, far away in never never land.
I think most Aussie award systems like the Logies have become fairly tokenistic.
You can’t have a “grand slam” event if nobody knows any of the winners. The awards’ biggest problem in past years has been the lack of well-known artists winning awards – and ARIA voters are notorious for snubbing commercial acts.
Plus, the “grand slam” notion implies that an act would be able to win an ARIA, a BRIT and a Grammy, but this would only work if the act won the rather token “international act” award, which has been pasted into the ceremony in a feeble attempt to make it of more interest to viewers. Because a one minute pre-recorded acceptance speech from Pink on her couch in LA is worth tuning in for.
