Fringe: trailer

The trailer for Fringe's final season could almost pass for a feature film trailer.

The trailer for Fringe‘s final season is much longer and more elaborate than most we see for small screen shows.

It could almost pass for a feature film trailer.

No word on an Airdate yet.

  1. A belated thank you for this David. I’ll admit I’m behind on my reading the Fringe forums and this site at the moment. I think you’re right it is excellent but I’m biased. 😉

In case anyone reads this later I hope they could play the season next year. The first half of the year and they play it one episode a week. I hope it could be on Wednesday 9.30pm. Other options are 10.30pm or 11.10pm. Plus a 12am-2am repeat in case of power outage or the episode is so good it’s worth re-watching. I’ll also admit I liked the advertising campaign for Spartacus this year. Because when I flicked on the channel I often saw the ads. I don’t know if they’d do the same for the last season of Fringe. Time will tell.

  2. @Dino – yes thanks! I thought so too. The whole cast were at Comic Con so I couldn’t understand why she wasn’t in that promo which intitally I thought was for the season, not just episode one and the girl in it looks a lot like Olivia so was really scared she’d been replaced. Now I see she’s their daughter. *Phew*

  3. omg, I think I just… no, it’s ok – I just spilt some of my drink in my lap with the excitement. S4 was fantastic and S5 looks like it will actually improve on that. Agree that John Noble is an excellent actor. I particularly like Anna Torv, Blair Brown, and Seth Gable too.

Nine/Go have treated this very shabbily, unable to find it within themselves to give it a stable timeslot even when it was shown after 11:30. I will not be able to wait until they get around to showing this in 6 or 8 months time.

  4. Well knock me over with a chainsaw Heather! John Noble’s an Aussie? I had absolutely no idea and am somewhat ashamed I didn’t know. The guy is an amazing actor. He went from creepy/scary in season 1 to one of my favourite actors/characters of all time, delivering one of the best lines ever on TV when he said “she tricked my son with her carnal manipulations and he fell right into her vagenda”. That line alone is worth an Emmy.

Thank you 2paw, Phoenix and Dayman. Greatly appreciated.

  5. hay wait one moment I saw this on FTA last month or so.. does that mean the station accidentally leaked the next season show out, I was wondering and very confused when I watched it.

  6. @ Gregaus — John Noble, who plays Walter Bishop, is also Australian.

I can’t imagine that Anna Torv isn’t in the final season. Her absence in the future, as indicated in the last episode of s. 4, is probably part of the cliffhanger: does she make it into the future or not? Hopefully, her absence in this s. 5 trailer is meant to exacerbate our worry, and make us tune in to find out what happened to her.

I’ll be tuning in, anyway, as Fringe is a smart, complex and highly entertaining show which I believe will become a sci-fi classic.

  7. @gregaus

John Noble (Walter) is also Australian.

If you ask me John Noble is one of the best actors working on TV. He is so good and with the different characters.

It’s a shame he’ll never get mainstream recognition with Emmy nominations ect.

  8. DiannaA – which two leads? I know Torv is Aussie but who else?

Also – Fringe fans can you help as I’m confused? There is no Olivia Dunham in the promo but there is another blonde girl who I assume is her daughter. Is Anna Torv not in the final season? Surely this is not possible?

  9. I very carefully recorded Fringe Season 4 from GO!!! and saved it until last week, and then watched it in one fell swoop. It was well worth the wait and I avoided the temptation to read spoilers and recaps as best I could.and though I am extremely sad it is ending, I am ever so glad it will have a proper final season. I hold out little hope that GO!! will screen it any time soon so I expect Apple TV or DVD set will be my last best hope. (Do you see what I did there??)

  10. Thank you for this, am anxiously awaiting Season 5 of Fringe. Hopefully you will warn us when it starts, I have a habit of always missing the first episode of shows on Foxtel.

This show should get more of a shout-out here as two of the leads are Australian!
