New-look Sundays coming to TEN

TEN re-lights its Sundays with Merlin, Modern Family, The New Normal, Homeland & Vegas.

TEN has revealed a new look “Super Sunday” to begin from October 14.

The line-up includes the anticipated Season Two premiere of Homeland, plus new episodes of Modern Family, Merlin and the premiere of The New Normal and Vegas.

It’s certainly a strong line-up that will help lift the network’s ailing figures. Other returning shows enter TEN’s schedule from next week including Underground: The Julian Assange Story on October 7th.

October signals a month where viewers are about to be swamped for choice. October 14th is also the premiere of ABC1’s first Jack Irish telemovie starring Guy Pearce.

6:30pm – Merlin
Season 5 Premiere Merlin is fantasy family drama at its very best. This darker fifth season promises viewers a thrilling combination of action, magic and adventure as we return to the mythical world of Camelot.

7:30pm – Modern Family
Season 4 Premiere Walking away with five more awards at the 2012 Emmys, Modern Family continues to dominate comedy TV, firmly establishing itself as a modern-day classic.

8:00pm – The New Normal
Series Premiere From the creators of Glee and American Horror Story comes a comedy that takes a look at what is normal. From single dads, double mums, sperm donors, egg donors and one-night stand donors… it’s 2012 and anything goes!

8:30pm – Homeland
Series 2 Premiere Winner of six 2012 Emmy Awards, including the best drama and best actor and actress in a drama series, this psychological thriller returns for an explosive second season.

9:30pm – Vegas
Series Premiere Set in Las Vegas in the 1960s and starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, Vegas is inspired by the true story of former Las Vegas sheriff Ralph Lamb.

  1. It’s a good line-up.Well done Ten for making an effort.I’m just wondering whether the line-up will stay like this or if the shows get moved around after a couple of weeks.

  2. @ The_ Flash, Ten wanted to leave Homeland in it’s original 8:30pm Sunday timeslot and because they have Underground: The Julian Assange story airing on Sunday October 7 at 8:30pm, the 14th was the earliest they could have shown Homeland.

  3. How much of a fast track of homeland is 10 doing ? Premiers in the US on the 30th of September, so 2 weeks, probably not going to deter people doing their own “fast track of the show” then. Congrats to 10 for showing it this year, but could of done it a little faster, maybe 5 days or a week even.

  4. Looks Alright but we assuming I get a Sunday Night off work watch Border Security,Airways and Double Mrs Brown’s Boys on 7 so none of this line up interests me and we start of with old Everybody Loves Raymond reruns on 11

  5. This is a good start on the long road back to credibility, however it is only a start. Ch10 have a recent history of stuffing things up so we will see. Starting on time would be great…..any chance?

Also what are they gonna do with the F1 Japan GP on the 7th & the Korean GP on the 14th?

  6. Modern family started a couple of nights ago and homeland on Monday Australian time and both are available in HD. Its over 2 weeks later and only in SD. Not good enough 10.

  7. Good to see TEN dumping repeats of The Simpsons. That was really scraping the bottom of the barrel expecting viewers on Sunday night to swallow it as part of a so-called comedy lineup.

Hopefully TEN has learned its lesson and there will be no more Shire, Bingle, Priscilla, Simpsons or any of the other poisonous stodge which has so trashed TEN’s image.

Because the same programmers are still in place using the same discredited “market research” which claims that young people who get pocket money or work at Maccas are somehow “a lucrative demo with high disposable income” I’m not so sure this lineup represents a new era for TEN.

  8. This is great. I can’t wait for Homeland and soon enough after the US that I can avoid spoilers hopefully.

Jack Irish on iView for me but looking forward to that as well.

Looks like 10 might be pulling its head out of its bum for the end of year run. Good work;.

  9. Sundays from 7.30 till 9.30 (at least), this household will be “tuned to TEN”. – well, PVR set, I should say. Good one.

And, guys, if you want to use “Tune to TEN” as a catch cry, please feel free…

  10. Great – Homeland on the same night as the Jack Irish movie on the ABC. Jack Irish wins for me, love Peter Temple’s books. (I wonder why the ABC promos never mention him, he’s hugely popular).

I can’t get into Merlin, he’s such an awful looking person, gives me the creeps.

  11. This is an absolutely cracking line up. I’d watch Ten all night with this. See Ten this is exactly what you needed. Quality shows all night and hopefully this gets the ratings it deserves. My only wish is that these shows now actually start on time, otherwise i’ll be forced to go elsewhere.

  12. I should also point out there’s only six or seven weeks from October 14th until the non ratings period…knowing Ten they’ll hold over episodes for a month and return them after the New Year

  13. I know it sounds crazy but maybe Ten can promote Homeland as “no commercials” at least for the premiere?!
It might bring viewers back to the network knowing they can get completely wrapped up in the programme without interruption from ads.

  14. Homeland season 2 looks awesome and should outrate Killing Time

Vegas in the states did well in total viewers but horrible in the demo…not surprising when you see they only have one cast member under 40 years of age
