As well as studio guests, McManus explores Hollywood with more ‘only in America’ characters and events.

Rove LA now screens on the TV Guide Network in the US which is currently airing the first season as a preview to screening the entire second series shortly after its premiere in Australia.

Australia’s favourite talk show host, Rove McManus, returns to FOX8 for a second season of Rove LA with a new home to broadcast from, more A-list celebrities and a series of hilarious segments in the pipeline.

The first episode, which premieres this Sunday, September 30 at 7.30pm AEST, will feature funnyman Russell Brand, singer and American Idol alumni Adam Lambert; and comedian/actress Kristen Schaal chatting live in studio with Rove.

Rove LA is a weekly, one-hour comedy talk show that sees multi TV Week Gold Logie winner Rove McManus “hanging out” on his couch with some of Hollywood’s biggest names. The first season attracted a stellar lineup of stars, including Pink, Justin Timberlake, Hugh Jackman, Steve Carell, Eva Longoria, Eliza Dushku, k.d. Lang and LL Cool J.

The second series is shaping up to be even bigger, with Rove moving to the iconic Warner Bros Studios, alongside current hit shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, Hart of Dixie, Two and a Half Men, Mike and Molly and Pretty Little Liars.

Each week, Rove LA will record in Stage 12 on the lot, former home to blockbuster movies Ghostbusters, Batman Returns and Goonies as well as television series The Gilmore Girls.

Rove said, “I am very excited to be back and even more excited to be in our new home at Warner Bros. I have long been a fan of all things Bugs Bunny and Superman so it seems like a perfect fit. Rove LA season one gave us a fantastic foundation to build on and I can’t wait to turn some of our new ideas into reality.”

Every episode three celebrities will stop by for an informal chat with Rove, often with a drink in hand. The casual Aussie atmosphere allows the celebrities to relax and enjoy themselves – often with surprising results.

Rove and his team ensure they cast interesting and unusual celebrity guest combinations to inspire real conversations and unpredictable interactions that you won’t see anywhere else.

Sunday, September 30 at 7.30pm on FOX8.

  1. Absolutely loved season one so I can’t wait for the next season. Rove is simply a talk show genius – current TV hosts could learn a thing or two (say Paul Henry).
@ David Knox – it is also broadcast in N.Z. (TV3) and the U.K. (E!).
