Jack Tame. TEN’s man in New York (from TVNZ).

Reporter Jack Tame is doing a fair bit of work for TEN News lately, which is pretty good for someone employed by TVNZ.

Reporter Jack Tame is doing a fair bit of work for TEN News lately, regularly popping up  for Live crosses in New York to TEN Late News.

But with his strong NZ accent it’s hard not to notice that he is actually a correspondent for TVNZ. As his Twitter account explains, he is “TVNZ’s US Correspondent / Herald on Sunday Columnist. Pasty skin, uncouth eyebrows and an awkward running technique.”

Tame must have impressed TEN News boss Anthony Flannery, previously Head of News and Current Affairs for TVNZ. Despite his youthful age, Tame does demonstrate strong on-air skills.

TEN’s US correspondent Emma Dallimore is based in LA.

  1. Jack Tame’s regarded as a big talent. Even filled in hosting on Breakfast in 2008 when he was about 21-22. Would have been second year out of broadcasting school. Became a semi-regular fill in after that.

  2. Impressed he has, Anthony Flannery has long been a fan of Jack Tame and he is considered ’emerging talent’ at TVNZ. His US position is a result of him leaving NZ on OE to the US and this role (specified as a contractor) was offered to him as a sweetener to retain him at TVNZ.
