Jules Lund quits Nine

Jules Lund has quit Getaway and the Nine Network to spend more time with his family.

The Herald Sun reports Lund will conclude his TV obligations following the birth of his second child this week with wife Anna.

Lund racked up nearly 400 episodes of Getaway since he joined in 2003, which necessitates many long stretches away from home.

But he will continue with his Austereo radio show with Fifi Box.

“Having two kids is a whole different ballgame,” Lund says. “I’ve realised that family time is so precious.

“The past decade has been an absolute blast. I’ve ticked off hundreds of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities in an industry where you are lucky to just have a job.”

Whilst he becomes available for freelancing opportunities, Nine has already asked him to continue co-hosting the TV Week Logie Awards Red Carpet in 2013.

Earlier this week Liam Bartlett also announced he was leaving 60 Minutes to spend more time with family.

  1. Good on this guy for being a family man and all but I agree with other commenters, this guy was so annoying. So high energy and animated, and awkward to watch, like Grant Denyer

  2. Another Nine personality going to ‘spend more time’ with the family.
Considering Nine’s financial woes, could it be that many stars are taking redundancy payouts?

  3. Oh no, he held such a pedigree at Nine with such achievements as…sorry i’m a bit emotional here…Hole in the Wall. How could Nine let this one slip?
