Outland off to Bent-Con in LA

ABC comedy is off to LA for a screening at “the gay Comic-Con”.

ABC sci-fi fan-club comedy Outland will be playing at Los Angeles’ Bent-Con in December, with co-creator/writer John Richards in attendance as a guest.

Described as “the gay Comic-Con”, Bent-Con celebrates LGBT and related comic-books, gaming, scifi, fantasy and horror.

Other TV writers appearing at this year’s event include Jane Espenson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, Torchwood, Game Of Thrones), Andrew Chambliss (Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Once Upon A Time) and Drew Greenberg (Warehouse 13, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), as well as a raft of actors, producers, comic-book creators, authors and artists.

“I’m thrilled to be attending Bent-Con, and that the show has sold to the traditional home of comedy – Germany” said John Richards. “Adam (Richard) and I have been overwhelmed by how much love there is around the world for our gay geeks.”

Since airing on ABC1 in February, Outland has screened in New Zealand on Choice TV, Sweden on SVT and has just sold to Germany’s WDR and festivals across the US, Canada and Europe. It also won a special Audience Award at the Seattle Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.”
