US animated series Bob’s Burgers was renewed for fourth season this week.

FOX ordered 22 more episodes for the 2013-14 season.

“We love Bob’s,” says Kevin Reilly, chairman of FOX Entertainment. “We are really proud of the way the show has grown over the past three seasons, without losing the unique voice at its core — and we know that the best is yet to come for Bob’s Burgers and its fans.”

After two short seasons, Bob’s Burgers got a full-year order for this season and is recorded the biggest year-on-year ratings growth of any returning FOX series.

It airs in Australia on ELEVEN.

  1. @sillygostly I wouldn’t speculate future seasons won’t get released this early. The broadcast Season 2 was only 9 episodes so FOX probably wants to release more episodes than that in a set. Season 1 was 13. I would expect to see something early next year in volumes such as Family Guy (13 per DVD set), or Futurama (Production Order), or later in the year when Broadcast Season 3 ends.

  2. @jthommo: Only the first season was released in the US, and disappointingly, there don’t appear to be any plans to release subsequent seasons on DVD due to the niche nature of the show (another Fox show, King of the Hill wasn’t released beyond season 6 on DVD despite a pack-in pamphlet promising a season 7 release way back in 2006).

Unfortunately, the only way that you could lawfully obtain the entirety of the show is to buy the episodes via iTunes at this point.

  3. I love Bob’s Burgers, so this is excellent news! Easily one of if not the best animation comedy series to come out of the US to date. So simple yet so effective. If only they would bring out DVD boxsets of it over here in Aus!
