  1. If the soccer is so important then why isn’t it on SBS One? At that time all One has on is a nature doco followed by part 3 of “Living With the Amish”, which surely could be rested for a week in preference to a show like The Bridge.

In fact when you look at the schedule SBS have it all backwards — top quality shows like The Bridge should be on SBS One while minor docos and sport should be on SBS Two.

  2. I too am very disappointed that I will not get to watch The Bridge this week.
If SBS really needs to show a soccer replay in this timeslot, couldn’t they have screened The Bridge at 9:30 ?
But then, it is available on DVD.

  3. I’ve been really enjoying the Bridge and it’s a shame to see it get bumped for a replay of the Iraq-Australia match (and I say this as a big fan of the round-ball game too).
As the game is being played at 1am (and shown as a delayed telecast on SBS1 at 2am), I wonder if SBS will revert back to regular programming in the event of Australia losing, or it being a really dull match!

  4. Enjoying The Bridge and would normally be happy to miss a week to watch the Socceroos. However, I’ll be watching the match live tonight so: sadface.

  5. Jane is absolutely correct.. Makes me wonder if someone from one of the commercial stations has moved over to SBS as it’s the sort of thing they love doing to viewers. On second thoughts, probalby not, as at least it keeps to its advertised schedule.

  6. Why? SBS clearly don’t know how to treat this fantastic drama. Firstly, they put it in the ghetto of SBS2 and air the series with hardly any publicity. Now they are mucking around with the schedule. Whoever is in charge of their programming and marketing is asleep at the wheel. This should be one of the jewels in their crown, but no-one I know is aware of it. No wonder SBS numbers are low.
