Today show in New York City

All this week Nine’s Today show is broadcasting from Times Square in New York City.

Already the team are tweeting about coffee, what’s on telly and Beyonce concerts.

On today’s show Karl Stefanovic visits the museum for the USS Intrepid, there’s a look at Coney Island’s sideshow school, and Anthony Warlow (currently performing in Annie on Broadway) makes an appearance.

We are also featuring master illusionist David Blaine who is currently undertaking a major stunt in NYC involving 1 million volts of electricity.

Ben will be visiting the world’s best toy store.

The Richards are going sightseeing with Elmo.

Georgie and Lisa are getting the celebrity treatment at one of New York’s quintessential department stores.

And Karl is checking out a space shuttle and US aircraft carrier.

We are also featuring celebrity chefs each day who will be cooking some American favourites.

    • Actually there haven’t been any specific reports of cost-cutting for Nine yet. That will presumably change but so far the cost-cutting reports are at Seven. I’m sure sponsors helped with the US broadcast a fair bit.

I think it’s great the Today show travels around and shows us the world,but wasn’t it only not that long ago they were in New York City?Unless something relevant to Australia is going on there,maybe they should stick to our own backyard or perhaps somewhere different in the world.It just seems like a bit of a self indulgent trip.
