For Sale: Packed to the Rafters house

Psst! Wanna buy the Packed to the Rafters house?

On Saturday the Packed to the Rafters house goes up for auction in Concord.

At realestate.com.au, it boasts it is “Packed with possibilities.”

“All elements for a successful lifestyle are here in this attractive Californian bungalow. Currently leased and situated in a prime position, in the best tree-lined street in Concord on a large block of approx 585 sqm with a wide frontage of 14.02 metres and a side driveway access to garage and work shop. Other great features of this charming spacious home include 3 double bedrooms with built in wardrobes, separate dining, spacious lounge/dining room leading out to casual living and private yard. The home boasts a large and functional original kitchen, new carpet & high ceilings. 8 Riverview St, Concord offers the flexibility to live in now, renovate, rebuild or keep as an investment option. An opportunity not to be missed, inspect today,” it says.

As Peter Ford noted on 3AW, there’s nothing in the ad that mentions you’ll undoubtedly have an awful lot of sticky beaks coming around for a look too.

So where does this leave the Seven series?

Rumours continue that next year could be the final for the hit drama, particularly given key cast members have already quit the show.

As TV Tonight recently revealed, the next season has 12 episodes in production instead of 22, but there are 12 other  eps still unaired.

Corrected.

  1. Oh cool, I always wondered what the address was.

I always assumed the inside of the house was a set, but looking at the floor plan it may be filmed inside the actual house?

Also I didn’t realise Carbo’s house was really right next door

  2. 6 seasons is enough and leaves the series on a relative high, rather than to follow the American approach of flogging it until it is completely dead.

The only real mistake 7 made was following the American style of 22 episodes per season. That is just way too much.

  3. So anyone else just Google the address? Just over 1000km from my here.

I agree it doesn’t look good for the Rafters, maybe disaster strikes and the house is destroyed or something. Maybe they have a ‘super storm’ strike the street?

Or the remaining 25 or so eps will be it?

  4. If Channel 7 was keen to continue PTTR, there would be a covenant and agreed rental facility mentioned in the contract similar to those who live in the Vermont South court in Melbourne better known as Ramsey St. Given no such arrangement appears to exist, it is safe to assume PTTR is nearing its end. Realistically, it is likely any new buyer will be keen to knock down the old house and rebuild given the land value will far exceed the worth of the existing house.

It will be good for a series to end whilst it is still near the top rather than in its death throes.

  5. There are 12 episodes of season 5 that will be aired next year and also 12 episodes of season 6, Iy’s pretty obvious that season 6 will be the last, espacially due to it been cut short and seven’s treatment of the show in recent years,

  6. How strange it would be living in that house knowing who has been in there. Also even living next door to the house they used for Carbo.

They are going to get so many people going just to have a sticky beak through.
