NCIS: LA, a spin-off of NCIS, is now planning its own spin-off.
Australian screenwriter and showrunner Shane Brennan will write and executive produce a two-part episode that will centre on new characters who will be introduced in an upcoming two-part episode of NCIS: LA.
The Hollywood Reporter notes the plot will involve a mobile team of agents who live and work together as they go across the country to solve crimes.
NCIS itself was a planted spinoff of the long-running JAG, via a two-parter in JAG‘s eighth season before premiering in 2003.

I’d love to see a “JAG/NCIS/NCIS:LA” Variety Hour.
Wait. No I wouldn’t.
Lee-Roy has demonstrated Tony Martin-like obscure TV knowledge!
CBS just recycles the same show format over and over and over.
@Swanny Eventually they will do a remake of JAG which will done as a 2 part spin-off from NCIS, which will be cancelled until they do a remake of NCIS which will be done a 2 part spin-off from JAG (it’s going to be a Groundhog day type scenario).
I only watch NCIS:LA for Linda Hunt’s character.
Me neither (I only knew the first 3), but according to Wikipedia they exist
I think Happy Days has the record for most spin offs: Laverne & Shirley, Joanie Loves Chachi, Mork & Mindy plus the little known Blansky’s Beauties, Out of the Blue, The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang, Laverne & Shirley in the Army, and Mork & Mindy/Laverne & Shirley/Fonz Hour
Not even I remember some of those!
It’s a shame NCIS:LA is just so horribly awful, and that the original NCIS has overstayed its welcome.
Spin off of a spin off of a spin off of a spin off? The cycle continues. Are they going for a record or something? 😛
