Renewed: Haven

US drama based on a Stephen King novella wins a fourth season.

US drama Haven has been renewed for a fourth season by the Syfy Network.

The series about strange events in a fictional town in Maine has received a 13-episode order for 2013.

The Season 3 premiere drew 2.8 million US viewers, up 10% from Season 2 and the show is the #1 cable show in its timeslot amongst 18-49 and 25-54 viewers.

Based on Stephen King’s novella The Colorado Kid, Haven airs in Australia on 13th Street.

  1. Haven is OK. It is like the X-Files with monster of the week stories about the supernatural powers that people in the town have, known as The Troubles. It also has its myth arc about the cause of The Troubles and the character of Audrey Parker.

    In the first series the writing and acting aren’t that great and it is mostly just monster of week episodes. The Colorado Kid and the myth arc play little part and King’s town of Haven seems to be what they mostly wanted the rights for.

    They do a much better job with the later seasons.
