Rove LA: Nov 4

Guests: James Van Der Beek, Jeff Probst and Ben Folds.

On Rove LA this Sunday is actor James Van Der Beek, Survivor host Jeff Probst and musician Ben Folds.

With his new series Don’t Trust the B**** In Apt. 23, airing Mondays on Arena, James Van Der Beek, has found the role of his life – literally. In the hit comedy series, he plays… James Van Der Beek, former teen heartthrob and star of the series Dawson’s Creek.

With a surprisingly caustic sense of humour, James discusses the unusual gift he recently gave his co-star and why it led to some serious explaining. He also reveals why Rob Lowe is still “pissed off” with him after James robbed him of his childhood dream, and laments on the fact that his six years of work on Dawson’s Creek has been reduced to one infamous scene that continues to haunt him nearly a decade later.

Jeff Probst is host of the hit series Survivor. Currently in its 25th season on air, the show has seen him win the Emmy for best reality show host from 2008-2011. Jeff recently launched his own syndicated daytime talk show, The Jeff Probst Show.

While reveling in the lax nature of Australian television, and enjoying the early stages of a “bromance” with his fellow talk show host Rove, Jeff tells how some shameless name dropping led to him being confused for Bear Grylls and resulted in a terribly embarrassing incident. He also talks about that awkward moment that happened recently with one of the female Survivor contestants after she was voted out at tribal council, and the demise of his band The Cosmics many years ago.

Ben Folds first found mainstream success as the leader of the critically acclaimed, platinum-selling Ben Folds Five. He has gone on to have a very successful solo career, recording four studio albums. Folds has also performed with some of the world’s greatest orchestras including a record-breaking sold-out Australian symphonic tour in 2006.

Demonstrating his immense skills, Ben performs various percussion pieces with a pair of chopsticks before leading Rove and his musically talented guests on a special acapella melody. He also discloses to Rove why Ben Folds Five got back together after so many years, and talks about their plans for the future.

Sunday, November 4 at 7.30pm AEDT on FOX8.

  1. Funniest episode ever!! it was hilarious!

Doesn’t rove usually only have guests to promote the celebrities show on Foxtel? I thought they would mention you can catch The Jeff Probst Show on Arena on Such and such but he didn’t mention it. He just said you can catch survivor on Australian TV.

  2. If your currently watching Survivor on Nine then I wouldn’t watch this episode because I believe the awkward tribal council moment he will be discussing hasn’t aired here yet.
