6 Comments:

  1. @Leppie you seem a tad confused as in the span of 6 hours you’ve gone from saying bb is dead in the water to then praising it and saying it will def be back next year. Confusing much?

  2. @Leppie I agree if nine put it on and end before the finale before daylight savings next year it will rate a lot better. It rated well before then. At least they can learn from there mistakes this year and make it even better next year.

  3. I agree with Secret Squirrel – It will be back next year, I am sure of it. It was getting over the 1 million mark before daylight savings, and constantly rates well when it comes to demographics.

  4. Secret Squirrel

@HeyHey_Variety – it’s been said many times that whilst “Total People” is good for headlines, it is the demos (and not just the age-based disaggregation we see here) which are the most relevant to a network’s bottom line. That’s where the advertising spend is focussed

Sure, there are people over 55 with a bucket of cash who have paid off the house and aren’t supporting their kids anymore but the reality is that they buy less groceries, electronic goods, furniture, clothing etc, etc than someone who is buying for a family of four with two growing kids.

Big Brother is doing well enough in the demos and isn’t horribly expensive to produce – it will be back next year.

  5. With Channel 9 is cleared of debt, they can’t be looking for demos. From next year they have to focus on “Total people” and Big Brother is not rating one million viewers leading into the final weeks if nine is going to bring it back next year.
