Renewed: Psych, So You Think You Can Dance.

Two international titles were recently renewed, both of which air on the TEN Network.

2012-12-24_2255Cable network USA Network recently renewed offbeat buddy series Psych for eighth season.

It now becomes the longest-running comedy on the network.

“What better holiday present to give our fans than to announce #Psych has been picked up for an 8th season! Happy holidays!,” the show’s Twitter feed recently announced.

It is currently not clear whether the eighth season will be its last, but the seventh season is yet to premiere.

Meanwhile FOX recently announced So You Think You Can Dance will return for season 10 with Cat Deeley, Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy all returning.

And you got excited thinking it was the local series, right?

  1. Channel 10 ended up screening S5 of Psych on One, in double episodes, late on Thursday night just before their rights expired.

TV1 seem happy screening the first few seasons over and over again.

I doubt we will see S6 any time soon.

  2. @Craig That is actually the second adjustment for Psych in the US Seasons 1-5 started in July/August and Season 6 was moved to October, now 7 is moved to February. There is a really good Promo for Season 6 with the cast doing the Simple Minds song Don’t You (Forget About Me) because of the move to October back then (hope they do something similar for Season 7).

Glad Psych has been renewed fo an 8th, just hope with the two final episodes of Season 5 on ONE this week, that TEN continue on to Season 6 straight away and then we get Season 7 not long after it airs in the US.

  3. Psych has not been on in the US for 8 months, usually it’s a summer series but it was held off until early 2013, it’s set to return for it’s 7th season (in the US) February 27.

  4. I watched the first two seasons of Psych back on TEN and loved it but lost track of when it was on but recently started watching it again on TV1 and its amazing how you can miss entire seasons and its still great. Gosh every time I see SYTYCD tagged I prey it’s in relation to the Australian version, but TEN always disappoints. What ever happened to Nigel taking SYTYCD to another network?
