Sunday Night recognised with Health Journalism award

Sunday Night wins a National Press Club award for a story on Chrissy Amphlett undergoing MS treatment.

Sunday Night reporter Rahni Sadler and producer Penelope Cross have won the National Press Club’s Best Documentary award in the fields of health and sciences for their story on a new treatment for MS featuring Chrissy Amphlett.

In April, Sunday Night profiled singer Chrissy Amphlett undergoing radical treatment for MS devised by vascular surgeon, Doctor Paolo Zamboni.

Executive Producer Mark Llewellyn said, “We are incredibly proud of the stories on Sunday Night and this award shows our commitment to excellence. Combined with two Walkley Award nominations, Sunday Night has had an outstanding year and we look forward to delivering more compelling stories in 2013.”

ABC’s Catalyst reporter Maryanne Demasi received a Commendation for her story, ‘Orgasm: the trouble with sex.’
