UK critics vote Sherlock best of 2012

2012-12-30_0101UK critics have votes Sherlock ahead of Homeland as the best show of 2012.

Sherlock delivered the TV event of the year with three perfect episodes,” said RadioTimes.com editor Tim Glanfield. “Nothing got people talking more than that cliffhanger series finale – and that was as true here at Radio Times as it was in offices and school playgrounds around the country.

“Despite being shown 11 months ago, Sherlock won the vote quite easily,” Glanfield added. “Virtually all of us had it in our personal top fives. It was simply staggeringly good TV – and best of all it’s British!”

In third place was Twenty Twelve, the show that was allegedly a rip-off of ABC’s The Games. Also in the top ten was The Thick of It, returning soon to ABC1 and Downton Abbey, soon on Seven.

Girls will also return to Showcase in January while the UK original The Great British Bake Off has its Aussie version soon on Nine.

  1. Sherlock was clearly the best UK show for the year.

This is of course the ratings of the BBC TV guide (though it has been spun of into a separate company this year).
