Neighbours sees breastfeeding character ejected from bar
Talk about timing. Debate about public breastfeeding makes its way to Erinsborough this week.

As if timing to a tee, Neighbours this week has a plotline which sees a character getting ejected from a bar for breast-feeding.
New mum Sonya Mitchell (Eve Morey) asked to leave Charlies, after a customer complains to the management about her breast feeding her baby daughter.
But the timing is coincidental to the breast-feeding debate that enveloped Sunrise, given they were filmed last October.
“Babies are certainly a focus of our storylines and being out and about in the community is part of that, and that includes the option to breastfeed in public. We wanted to represent that,” said Richard Jasek, Neighbours Executive Producer.
The episode airs on Friday.
6:30pm weeknights on ELEVEN.

What mothers group meets at a bar.
The real question here is, why would you bring a baby to a bar?
Will the same protesters got to Charlie’s to protest.
Seriously though I bet neighbours gets letters about this but I guess its a topic that gets people talking.
Great timing, sure this wasn’t planned?
I’m sure you’d want to cover up in the recent 40 deg temps parts of this country has experienced over the last few weeks!
I agree this is 2013 and should not be an issue, yes it can be awkward but it’s a natural part of life, don’t like it just turn around. And if young kids see it, so what they probably wouldn’t care and if parents can’t be bothered to explain things to them, well that’s their problem.
It wasn’t too long ago mothers were ask to feed their babies in the local toilets. Maybe some of those doing the asking show have their lunch in the toilet as well?
its 2013 people, get over it.
why is it if we see a monkey feeding her baby we go awwww, yet when we see a womein feeding her baby the reaction is ewww?….
I agree with Kochie, covering up, with a blanket or something is probably a better idea, as to not offend small minded bigots.
It can be a slightly awkward moment when you see a woman breastfeeding, especially if is something you don’t want to see. personally id rather a mum get a boob out and feed her crying baby, then listen to the baby crying. way up the pros and cons, crying baby vs happy baby?
