Out of the Ashes replay

Tonight ABC NEWS 24 will air Out of the Ashes on the 10th anniversary of the Canberra bushfires.

Hosted by Chris Kimball from the ruins of the dome at Mt Stromlo Observatory which was destroyed by the fires.

Ten years on, we hear first-hand accounts of terrified flight, survival and recovery along with some of the lessons learned from a tragedy which cost four lives and destroyed more than 500 homes.

ABC1 will air the bushfire special for ACT viewers at 7.30pm AEDT, simulcast nationally on ABC News 24.

The program will be repeated on ABC News 24 at 4.30pm AEDT on Saturday, 19 January.
