Seven grand slams the summer ratings week

Seven very nearly had a 2012-style clean sweep of channels, demos, cities, and nights last week.

2013-01-20_2356Seven’s coverage of the Australian Open saw it dominate last week, in the summer ratings. That included a big 40.2% network share on Saturday when Bernard Tomic faced Roger Federer.

The network very nearly had a 2012-style clean sweep of channels, demos, cities, and nights.

Nine tied on Wednesday and GO! tied in multichannels with 7TWO. Otherwise it would have been a walk-over.

The news was also bad for TEN, but now MasterChef: The Professionals has arrived things will look up.

  1. Every year I’ve complained about Channel 7’s coverage so it’s only fair to compliment them now for finally showing the tennis live into QLD through utilising 7-TWO while the news is on. The shameless self-promotion of upcoming shows has also been dramatically reduced compared to previous years. There have been some excellent matches like the one last night and the commentary has been entertaining as well. Now if only they could simulcast on 7-MATE so we could watch in HD.
