2013 ATOM Awards: entries open

Entries are now open for the 201 ATOM Awards, open to entertainment industry personnel and students.

2013-02-20_2326Entries are now open for the 201 ATOM Awards for the education and industry sectors.

This year’s awards span twenty-nine diverse categories, from feature-length documentaries and factual television programs to music videos, animation, games and multimedia. Over two nights in November we will celebrate the best screen content Australia and New Zealand have to offer.

Open to entertainment industry personnel and students at all levels, from our youngest primary school talents to the most established of screen media professionals, the ATOM Awards have been a crucial link between educators and the media industry for over thirty years. They are the second–longest running screen industry awards in Australia, after the AFI/AACTA Awards.

ATOM encourages entrants to submit their productions online now via the online entry system at www.atomawards.org. Entries are open until 5pm on Friday 28 June.

ATOM Awards Officer Jen Farrow said of the launch: “The ATOM Awards are a great opportunity for budding filmmakers to engage a vast audience and make meaningful and long-lasting connections with industry professionals.

“We will host all of the student finalist films on the ATOM Awards website, and run audience choice competitions across selected categories throughout next year.

“We are thrilled to have the Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation on board as naming sponsor for this year’s awards. IPAF’s work in promoting the value of creative endeavour is a great match for our annual celebration of media excellence at all levels.”
