  1. Yeah, I found it enjoyable too. A shame that no Aussies won though. I remember years ago sitting at my desk at work with my radio on waiting to hear all the winners announced and getting excited when an Aussie won. Not working at the moment, so it was nice to watch it live and read the Tweets as well. A lot of mixed reactions to Seth’s hosting. Some people loved him, others hated him. I guess you can’t please all of the people all of the time. What some people find funny, others find offensive.

  2. It’s terrific that the awards are live on Nine again.

Thousands of us Oscar fans used to have to keep away from the TV , radio and internet until the evening so we wouldn’t have our day spoiled.

And I gotta tell you that is one mighty hard thing to do year after year after year.

    Thank you Nine.

  3. Pretty poor on Foxtel’s behalf to not show the awards. An HD airing on the Foxtel movie channel was always the better choice than standard on Nine. Any reason why Foxtel isn’t showing it? Or just they still haven’t gotten their movie channels in order yet…

  4. Findlater would be the only one i would predict may bring home an Oscar. Watts will lose to either Riva or Lawrence; Jackman to Day Lewis, Weaver to Hathaway and Dave Clayton to the team from Life of Pi – but Rick could win make up against Hitchcock or Les Miz. It would be cool for a 3rd year in a row for an Aussie to win. Kirk Baxter did so for editing in 2011 and 2012.
